Based on my experience with the Volt, I thought the car felt as high-quality as a Prius. That’s a pretty subjective measure, but to me, the doors closed with a nice solid sound, road noise was well-muffled and the cabin had a quality feel. I would have liked a nicer fabric on the seats. Leather is an option, but my test car just didn’t have it. The plastics felt and looked good. I especially liked the center stack. It had a cool design, and the integrated buttons made it easy to clean.

General Motors has committed to investing a total of $2 billion in 17 of its facilities here in the United States, and the latest to receive monitory support is the Arlington Assembly Plant in Texas. $331 million is being pumped into the Arlington facility for tooling and equipment in an effort to expand the plant. 110 jobs will also be added to the facility's existing 2,400-person workforce.
Currently, the plant builds The General's GMT900 sport-utility vehicles: the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade. GM likely has no plans to abandon this segment anytime soon, so it only makes sense that the plant will be updated in order to support the next generation of these full-size SUVs.
The Arlington Assembly investment comes after GM made efforts to expand its Detroit-Hamtramck, Bowling Green, Flint and Bay City facilities.

Chevrolet will sell 500 replicas of the 2011 Camaro convertible Indianapolis 500 pace car that will lead the race marking the 100th anniversary of the first running of the 500 this May.
Tracing a lineage that dates to Louis Chevrolet racing on a dirt oval at Indy, the 2011 Camaro pace car pays tribute to the 1969 Camaro pace car with similar white-and-orange livery. Power comes from a 6.2-liter V8 making 400 hp. The car will be offered with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.
"Chevrolet has enjoyed a strong connection to the Brickyard," Chevy marketing vice president Rick Scheidt said during the sale announcement at the Chicago auto show on Wednesday.
Chevy has an agreement to supply the IndyCar series with twin-turbo V6 powerplants in 2012.
The Camaro pace-car replicas will come in SS trim enhanced with Brembo brakes, 20-inch wheels and performance launch control. The convertible model is also reinforced with added support and braces to reduce cowl shake.
Chevy has paced the Indy 500 more than any other brand, dating to the 1948 Fleetmaster Six. A long list of Camaros, Corvettes and everything from a Bel-Air to a Beretta have led the race.

Chevrolet‘s fleet-only Caprice will likely be sold to the General Public after a tide of interest forced General Motors to re-consider their plans to restrict sales to fleets.
The Caprice is essentially a stretched version of the Pontiac G8, a rear-drive, V8 powered large sedan based off the much-lauded, Australian market Holden Commodore. The G8 was beloved by enthusiasts but tepidly received by the public. The G8 lasted only two model years before the Pontiac brand was killed by General Motors.
According to a report from Carenvy.ca, a “very reliable source” confirmed that the car will be sold in dealerships, but gave no details as to trim levels or how the vehicle would be positioned. After contact Car Envy’s Peter Dushenski, we’re inclined to believe the information as true. The new Caprice nameplate has a ton of cachet among a few demographics, as boomers remember the car from their youth, and young people associate the car with hip-hop music, lowriders and “donks”. The prospect of a Corvette derived small-block V8 is also enticing.
General Motors also revealed their first pictures of the “Detective Package” Caprice, which should give some major clues as to how the civilian version will look if it comes to market. A Caprice sold to the public will likely have an upgraded interior compared to the G8 and the workhorse versions, and don’t be surprised to see a V6 version as well.
